The traffic accident occurred on September 21, around 8:30 a.m., in the village of Bolekhivtsi, Drohobytsky District.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz car, a 23-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Drohobytsky district, while driving in reverse, hit a pedestrian, a 54-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the man received bodily injuries from which he died at the scene.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
