A 13-year-old boy was killed by a car in Lviv region – police are establishing the circumstances of the incident
The accident occurred on February 25, at about 19.45, near the village of Horbkiv, Chervonohrad district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee, a 52-year-old resident of Sokal, hit a pedestrian, a 13-year-old resident of the same city.
The boy died at the scene from the injuries sustained in the accident.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Regional Police opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the Road Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
