In the Stryi district, the police detained a resident of one of the villages on suspicion of murdering his wife
It was established that the husband hit his wife on the head with a metal hammer during a domestic dispute and did not report her death until the body was discovered by their daughter, who came to visit her parents two days after the murder.
As determined by the employees of police department No. 3 of the Stryi district police department, on October 10, around 6:00 p.m., a conflict arose between a 64-year-old man and his 61-year-old wife, residents of one of the villages of the Stryi district, during which the man hit the woman in the head with a metal hammer , causing injuries from which she died at the scene.
However, the perpetrator did not report the death of his wife to law enforcement officers or doctors. Two days later, on October 12, their daughter came to visit her parents, who, seeing her lifeless mother on the floor, called the emergency line 102.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The issue of notifying him of the suspicion of murdering his wife and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
