Lviv region says goodbye to a defender today

🕯️ Vitaliy Khomyk

A resident of the town of Kamianka-Buzka. The warrior defended Ukraine as part of the 117th Brigade, was the commander of the transport division of an anti-aircraft missile and artillery battery.

He died on January 6, 2024, as a result of a combat vehicle being hit by an enemy anti-tank missile system.

The defender is survived by his parents, wife and daughter.

🕯️ Oleksandr Shargulenko

A native of the village of Komyshany, Kherson region.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he and his family were forced to leave their home and move to Lviv. In June 2023, he joined the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Sicheslav airborne brigade to defend his homeland from the invaders. He performed combat missions in the Kharkiv region.

Oleksandr Shargulenko is survived by his parents, wife and two sons.

🕯️ Mykola Marchyshyn

A resident of Lviv.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Land Forces to defend his homeland from the Russian invaders. He defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

He is survived by his mother, wife, two children and two brothers.

🕯️ Viktor Nimyi

Originally from the village of Nahirne, Raliv community.

He was a senior flamethrower of the flamethrower section of the military unit 4667.

The soldier died on February 3, 2024 near the village of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region.

🕯️ Taras Kiz

A native of the village of Lysynychi.

After graduation, he entered military service. Upon its completion, he voluntarily signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he joined the ranks of the 14th Brigade of Operational Purpose named after Ivan Bohun of the Western Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine to defend his homeland. He fought in the southern direction.

He is survived by his mother, brothers, sisters and girlfriend.

🕯️ Denys Sirik

A native of Prymorsk, Zaporizhzhia region.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Denys Sirik’s family moved to Lviv. In July 2022, he volunteered to defend his homeland. He fought as a member of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment, and later the 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevhen Pikus. He defended the state in the eastern direction. Despite being wounded, he returned to the front.

For his personal courage, he was awarded numerous departmental awards, including the badge “For Courage in the Protection of the State Border”.

He is survived by his parents and four brothers.

🕯️Руслан Krotov

A native of Yenakiyevo, Donetsk region.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he moved to Lviv.

Here, in October 2023, he stood up to defend his homeland from the invaders as part of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of Polissya.

He is survived by his friends and comrades-in-arms.
