Two minors were injured in a road accident in Yavoriv Oblast – an 11-year-old electric scooter driver and a 14-year-old scooter rider

As a result of a road accident in the Lviv region, two minors were injured – an 11-year-old electric scooter driver and a 14-year-old scooter rider

The first traffic accident occurred on September 18, around 4:00 p.m., on the Lviv-Krakowets highway in the village of Nakonechne Druge, Yavoriv district.

As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Opel Movano car, a 41-year-old resident of Kyiv, while moving towards Krakivets, collided with the electric scooter “VNC” driven by an 11-year-old local resident.

As a result of the accident, the girl received numerous injuries and was hospitalized.

On the same day, around 8 p.m., in the city of Mykolaiv, Stryi district, at the intersection of Shevchenko and Ustiyanovycha streets, a collision occurred between a Mazda-6 car driven by a 20-year-old resident of Mykolaiv and a Yamaha-Jog-136 scooter driven by a 14- year-round local resident, 9th grade student.

The underage scooter rider was taken to the hospital with injuries.

According to both facts, investigators of territorial units of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the events.
