In Lviv, the police detained a 21-year-old man on suspicion of robbing a store

A 21-year-old man from Lviv, who ran away from the store without paying for the goods, faces up to ten years in prison for his crime.

According to the law enforcement officers, on October 11, around 10:00 a.m., in one of the shops located on Borys Antonenko-Davydovych Street in Lviv, the intruder fled the premises without paying for the goods. The employee of the institution tried to detain the man, but she did not succeed – then the woman called the emergency line 102.

Criminal police operatives and investigators of police department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2, as well as employees of the Department of Criminal Analysis of the Police of Lviv Oblast were involved in solving the crime. The law enforcement officers carried out a complex of operative and search measures, studied the recordings of video surveillance cameras located within the framework of the “Safe Lviv Region” program, established the location of the intruder and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The identity of the detainee has been established – he turned out to be a 21-year-old resident of Lviv. Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed him about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.

Police officers remind once again that under martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
