It was established that during a domestic conflict, the suspect brutally beat a pensioner, inflicted numerous blows with her hands and feet, causing injuries from which she died at the scene.
As the law enforcement officers established, on November 7, around 10 p.m., a domestic conflict arose between a 76-year-old pensioner who lived in an apartment in one of the buildings on Shchurata Street and her 33-year-old granddaughter. The granddaughter brutally beat the pensioner, inflicted numerous blows with her hands and feet on various parts of the body, causing injuries from which she died at the scene. The intruder ran away from the apartment.
Another granddaughter of the deceased, who came to visit her grandmother, informed the law enforcement officers about the discovered body.
Criminal police operatives and investigators of police department No. 1 of Lviv district police department No. 1 were involved in the search for the perpetrator. The law enforcement officers established the whereabouts of the woman and detained her in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to fifteen years.
The issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
