Over the past day, two pedestrians were injured in Lviv Oblast

The police of the Lviv region once again urges drivers not to exceed the permitted speed, to refrain from risky maneuvers and to be careful when approaching intersections and pedestrian crossings. Take care of life and health!

So, on November 17, around 6:30 a.m., on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” near the village of Rozvadiv of the Stryi district, the driver of a Scania truck, a 24-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district, hit a 67-year-old resident of Novy Rozdol. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was injured and hospitalized.

According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.

Another traffic accident occurred around 8:10 p.m. on the Lviv-Pustomity-Medenichi highway in the village of Sokilnyky, Lviv district. As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Chevrolet Aveo, a 54-year-old man from Lviv, hit a pedestrian, a 47-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district. As a result of the accident, the woman received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.

According to the fact, investigators of police department No. 3 of Lviv district police department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the events.
