28 children of fallen soldiers and defenders of Ukraine from Lviv Oblast have returned from an educational and touristic trip to the Republic of Croatia.

As part of the cooperation of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Croatia, the Government of the Republic of Croatia decided to organize an educational and tourist trip for the children of defenders of Ukraine.

“We sincerely thank Croatia for supporting Ukraine during the full-scale invasion, in particular for providing various types of aid, shelter for those who were forced to leave their homes, who were left without them. Thank you for responding to organize an educational-tourist vacation for our young citizens, whose parents defend their native state and for the children of those who gave their lives for it. Ukrainian children grew up very quickly in this war, but despite everything they remain children and need special care and protection. Thank you for helping us in this,” said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of Lviv OVA.

The journey of the Ukrainian children began in the capital of Croatia – Zagreb, where the children met with the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrii Plenkovich, the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Croatia Ivits Pirich, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Croatia Vasyl Kyrylych and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

“I am very glad that thanks to the involvement of the honorary consul, the ambassador and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, you have come to visit Croatia and will rest for a few days in Dalmatia. You are another group of Ukrainian children who have been visiting Croatia in recent years, and all these visits testify to the friendship and solidarity of Croatia and the Croatian people with Ukraine, which is fighting for its freedom and against Russian aggression. Come to us, to Croatia, which is a friendly country for you. We have many connections through our history, culture, political and economic relations, so I am especially glad that you are here today, when Croatia is hosting a major international conference dedicated to the demining of Ukraine,” said Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković.

After Zagreb, the children went to Dalmatia, to the city of Trogir, where they rested on the coast of the Adriatic Sea until October 21.
