In Lviv Oblast, immigrants are helped to learn new professions

The day before, short-term free courses on obtaining partial qualifications for temporarily displaced persons ended at the Sokal Vocational Lyceum.

This initiative was implemented with the support of the Department of Education and Science of Lviv Oblast within the framework of the UN and European Union Development Program in Lviv Oblast.

“Since April, we have been actively working on the basis of Lviv vocational and technical education institutions, because many internally displaced persons have arrived in Lviv, and in order to get a job, they need such retraining, in particular, we are talking about labor professions, which are currently in great demand. Later, the Sokal Vocational Lyceum responded to our request. This institution has work experience, appropriate resources, a material and technical base, all the conditions for the implementation of the project,” said the deputy director of the educational and methodological center of the department of education and science of the Lviv OVA Nataliya Rybak.

She informed that for this purpose a group of 13 internally displaced persons was formed, who during the week underwent theory and practice under the “Brukivnyk” program. The qualification work was evaluated visually – with high-quality paving stones and a curb in front of the entrance to the lyceum dormitory.

“I think that such projects are now very necessary for internally displaced persons, because in a short period of time you can get a new profession, get a job and earn money, and as a result, we develop the country’s economy,” Natalya Rybak added.

All trainees were provided with one-time meals, and upon completion of the courses, graduates received state-standard certificates.
