A 55-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district was robbed in Lviv

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

On January 2 at 05:00 a.m., the police received a report from a 55-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Chervonograd district that he had been robbed on Dvirtseva Square in Lviv.

The investigative-operational group and other employees of police department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 immediately went to the scene of the incident. As the law enforcement officers established, the attacker, a 17-year-old resident of the Zakarpattia region, inflicted bodily injuries on the victim and took possession of his bag containing cash, a bank card and a mobile phone, after which he fled.

After carrying out operative and search measures and studying the recordings from video surveillance cameras, operatives of the criminal police established the whereabouts of the intruder and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Physical evidence was seized from the detainee.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a crime provided for in Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.

Soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
