Today, for non-payment of a record number of fines for parking at a paid parking lot, enforcement authorities seized a Peugeot car from the driver. In particular, since April last year, parking inspectors issued 76 fines for non-payment of parking to this driver. To date, none of them have been paid. Currently, 56 proceedings are being enforced. This was reported in the security department of the LMR.
“Since last June, the driver has not paid any of the 76 fines for a total of 22.5 thousand hryvnias. Now this amount has increased significantly, because if the offending driver does not pay within 10 days, the amount of the fine is doubled. In addition, it increases if decision enforcement agencies are involved in the collection.
To date, 56 enforcement proceedings have been opened against this driver for the amount of UAH 59,000. If a person pays the fines, the executor’s fee and the costs of the enforcement proceedings, he will be able to get his car back. However, he also has to additionally pay for the services of the tow truck and the storage of the car at the penalty area,” explained Maksym Smilevskyi, the head of the security department of the LMR city. As noted by the private executor of the executive district of the Lviv region Ihor Biletskyi, if the owner does not pay all the fines, his car will be put on open tenders for the sale of property.
“The owner has a month to pay all the fines and return his car,” Ihor Biletskyi said.
According to Maksym Smilevskyi, today in Lviv there are, in particular, decrees on recovery of 116 offenders who have from 10 to 68 unpaid fines for improper parking in the total amount of UAH 1.3 million.
In general, since the beginning of the year, parking inspectors issued 58,500 fines in the amount of almost UAH 22 million for violations of stopping, parking and parking rules. Almost half of them are for non-payment of paid parking services: 22,000 decisions in the amount of UAH 5.5 million.
