Tomorrow, October 16, the heating season for the population and budget institutions begins in Lviv. According to the Department of Housing and Infrastructure of the LMR, houses and heat supply facilities are technically ready for heating. Instead, the residents themselves can decide to take the provided heat or not.

“As of today, the houses are ready for heat supply, the acts of readiness have been signed, the system is filled with water, the meters have been checked. Work was also carried out on the engineering networks of the indoor system.

It is worth noting that the task of “Lvivteploenergo” and “Zaliznychneteploenergo” is to supply heat to buildings. Instead, the residents who are the owners of the houses decide for themselves whether to take this heat or not,” emphasizes Orest Tymchyshyn, director of the housing and infrastructure department of the LMR.

According to the heating experts, if the heating season begins and there is no heat in the house, it is necessary, first of all, to contact the balance holder for information about its absence.

“If there is no heat in a house, the residents, first of all, should contact the balance keeper and find out the reason for the absence. Also, if the battery heats in one room, but not in the other, you also need to contact the balancer, because the heat is supplied to the house, so there are problems in the indoor heating system,” the heating engineers explain.

Since this heating season, like last year, will take place during the war, the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, also emphasizes an alternative to central heating.

“I want to emphasize the peculiarities of this heating season. We have everything ready. But it looks like Russia will attack critical infrastructure objects this year as well. Therefore, if there is no central heating for a certain time in December, January or February, then everyone should understand what alternative options are available.

Thus, one and a half thousand of our houses have shelters and there are stoves and firewood. But I would like everyone to think about where the family should be if there is an unusual situation. God forbid that this should not happen, but God protects the protected,” Andriy Sadovy notes.
