Karolina Kelyukh from Lviv became the champion of Europe in cycling

The 18-year-old athlete finished first in the sprint among juniors. In the semi-finals, she confidently defeated an opponent from Great Britain, and in the final – from France.

Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of Lviv OVA, informed about this.

The athlete trains at the George Prokopenko Children’s and Youth Sports School and at the Lviv Regional College of Sports. She is trained by Taras Pylypiv and Mykola Zalyhin.

For Karolina, this is the first “gold” of the European Championship in her career. For it, she will receive a monetary reward from the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional State Administration in the amount of 36 thousand hryvnias.

In total, three representatives of the Lviv Oblast are competing for awards as part of the national team. 21-year-old Oleksandra Logviniuk – master of sports of Ukraine of international class – will also compete for medals. The athlete of the Lviv Regional School of Higher Sports Mastery is coached by Yevhen Bolibrukh.

The team includes 19-year-old Ostap Sulkovskyi, master of sports of Ukraine. He is learning cycling at the Yury Kutenko Comprehensive Children’s and Youth Sports School. Ostap is trained by Serhiy Pryima and Serhiy Telitsyn.
