Representatives from the Lviv region won five medals at the Ukrainian Indoor Athletics Team Championship.
The Ukrainian Team Championship in multi-event athletics for adults, youth, and juniors took place on January 31 – February 1 in Kyiv. 400 athletes from 22 regions and Kyiv participated in the competition.
Athletic awards for the Lviv region: 1st place 🥇– Havryliak (Hryhor’eva) Yulia, 800 m run (LOR Centre of Excellence), 1st place 🥇– Karaim Maksym, 800 m run (LOR Centre of Excellence), 1st place 🥇– Hirchak Nazar, heptathlon (KDYUSSH named after Yu. Kutenko), 2nd place 🥈– Kolyada Kostiantyn, 3000 m steeplechase (LOR Centre of Excellence), 3rd place 🥉– Karaim Maksym, 1500 m run (DYUSSH named after O. Dem’yanyuk).
“The Lviv team ranked third in the overall team standings, only 11 points behind the silver medallists. Kyiv and Kyiv region were ahead”, said Roman Khimiak, director of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
Team results: 1st place – Kyiv (562 points), 2nd place – Kyiv region (320 points), 3rd place – Lviv region (309 points), 4th place – Donetsk region (308 points), 5th place – Vinnytsia (241 points).
