Drohobych Pupils Compete in Athletics Tournaments

In Drohobych, vibrant athletics competitions took place as part of the second phase of the ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ project, aimed at promoting physical culture among schoolchildren. Participants had the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents at the Bober School of Youth Sports, as reported by the Drohobych City Council.

For 3rd and 4th-year students, the competition was held on 13 March, where the team from Ryhtychy Lyceum emerged victorious. The team from Lyceum No. 3 named after Vyacheslav Chornovil secured second place. The next day, on 16 March, students from 5th to 9th year took part in the competitions, competing at the Ivan Franko Drohobych State University stadium. Here, in a fierce contest, the team from Bohdan Lepky Scientific Lyceum came first.

The competitions were organised by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports in collaboration with educational institutions and the Department of Education, aiming to encourage young people to lead an active lifestyle and engage in sports. The project is carried out under the patronage of Mayor Taras Kuchma.
