A charity race in memory of Yuriy Mochulsky will be held in Lviv

On 14 December, the Demianiuk Sports School will hold an open track and field championship for the second time in memory of its deceased graduate, Yurii Mochulskyi.

A charity race will also be organised as part of the event.

Athletics competitions will be held among athletes born in 2007-2008 and 2009-2010.

The day will also feature a 3km and 1km charity run for amateurs and everyone else. Participation is free for military personnel, war veterans and family members of fallen defenders.

100% of all entry fees will be donated to the 12th Brigade of the Azov National Guard, where Yuriy Mochulskyi served.

“The goal of the race is simple and important – to honour the memory of the hero and raise funds to help the unit of the athlete, warrior, platoon commander of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” Yuriy Mochulsky (call sign “Red”), who volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and unfortunately, was killed during the storming of enemy positions on 29 August 2023,” the organisers said.

The event was organised by the O. Demianiuk Children’s and Youth Sports School, NGO Probih, the Athletics Federation of Lviv Region, the Department of Sports and Youth Policy of Lviv City Council, together with partners BANDIT, Gorgany, Cup club, Touch recovery.
