Registration opens in Lviv for the run “I Honour Warriors, I Run for the Heroes of Ukraine”

Registration has opened in Lviv for the annual patriotic run “I Honour Warriors, I Run for the Heroes of Ukraine”, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine. Participants will start simultaneously in different cities across the country, paying tribute to the soldiers who were killed during the Russian-Ukrainian war. The event was announced by the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Each runner chooses in advance the name of a Hero of Ukraine to whom they wish to dedicate their run. The name and surname of the fallen soldier will be printed on the participant’s race number.

The run in Lviv will take place on 29 August in Stryiskyi Park. The starting point is by the Lviv Regional Children and Youth Sports School at 8 Ulas Samchuk Street. The event begins at 10:00, with race numbers being issued from 08:30.

Participants are offered three main distances: 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km. There will also be a separate race for children, and the 5 km distance can also be completed by Nordic walking participants.

For children up to 7 years old, a 100-metre race will be organised, and for those aged 7 to 10, a 300-metre race. Other children up to 18 years old may take part in the longer distances together with their parents or guardians.

When registering, it is mandatory to indicate which fallen Hero the participant plans to run for, specifying their name and surname in the form. Registration will be open until 10 August.
