The Lviv region team won 7 medals at the Ukrainian indoor athletics championship.
The Ukrainian indoor athletics championship among physical education and sports institutions took place from February 13 to 15 at the MOE Summer Sports Training Base. The competition was attended by boys and girls born in 2011-2012. The event gathered 622 athletes from 22 regions and Kyiv.
“The Lviv regional team took first place overall. Our athletes won two gold medals, three silver, and two bronze,” said Roman Khimiak, Director of the Department of Sport, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The gold medals were won by Valentyn Petryshyn in the pentathlon and Nataliya Rudko in the 1500m steeplechase. Silver medals were awarded to Danylo Dmukhovskyi in the 200m race, Oleh Kobryk in the 60m hurdles, and the team in the 100+200+300+400m relay. Bronze was claimed by Maksym Dyakiv in the 1500m steeplechase and the team in the 100+200+300+400m relay.
