On Tuesday, 13 October, a city farewell ceremony will be held in Lviv for serviceman Yaroslav Hirnyi, who gave his life defending Ukraine from the Russian occupiers in the Donetsk sector. Lviv City Hall has called on residents and visitors to join the farewell and to refrain at this time from entertainment events and celebrations.

The funeral service for the soldier will begin at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. At approximately 11:30, a citywide farewell ceremony is planned on Rynok Square. The burial will take place at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the Field of Honour No. 87 on Pasichna Street.

During the ceremony on the square outside the Garrison Church, residents kneel along both sides of the procession, some people holding flowers in their hands. In front of the coffin march servicemen carrying large flags of Ukraine and of the Armed Forces.
