The award ceremony of state honors to the families of deceased border guards took place at the Lviv Regional Council.
On behalf of the President of Ukraine, the awards were presented by Colonel Oleh Trofymenko and Maksym Kozytskyi. The Order of Courage, 3rd Class was received by nine servicemen, including Senior Soldier Nazarii Yakovyshyn and Senior Sergeant Andrii Haladii. The President of Ukraine’s Distinction ‘For the Defense of Ukraine’ was awarded to seven border guards, including Major Oleh Hrytsiv.
‘These awards symbolize that the heroism of your loved ones will live in the hearts of all Ukrainians,’ noted Colonel Oleh Trofymenko.
The awards were received by the families of warriors from the brigades ‘Hart’, ‘Pomsta’, ‘Forpost’, and others. ‘Thanks to your husbands, sons, and brothers, we have a state. Eternal memory to our warriors,’ said Maksym Kozytskyi.
During the ceremony, the National Anthem of Ukraine was performed, and the memory of the fallen was honored with a minute of silence.
