Lviv to Honor the Memory of Fallen Defender Roman Yakubiv

Tomorrow, February 17, Lviv will hold a farewell for serviceman Roman Yakubiv, who died defending Ukraine from Russian aggression. The city authorities urge residents and visitors to join the ceremony and refrain from entertaining activities on this day.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul, and at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place at Rynok Square. The burial is planned at Lychakiv Cemetery.

Roman Yakubiv (31.03.2002-24.01.2025) was a native of Lviv, studied at the Lviv Legal Gymnasium and the Youth Educational Center named after Saint John Bosco. He worked in Lviv and loved football. With the onset of the full-scale war, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and carried out missions in the Kharkiv direction as part of the 71st Separate Ranger Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

His parents survive him.
