On Saturday, January 18, Lviv will hold a farewell ceremony for serviceman Kyrylo Malashevych, who gave his life defending Ukraine against Russian aggression. The city authorities urge residents and visitors to attend the ceremony and refrain from entertainment during this time.
The farewell will begin at 9:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Maksymovycha Street). The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM at the Garrison Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Around 11:30 AM, a citywide farewell ceremony will be held at Rynok Square.
Kyrylo Malashevych will be laid to rest at Lychakiv Cemetery.
Biography of Kyrylo Malashevych
- Date of Birth: May 6, 1995, in Svitlodarsk, Donetsk Region.
- Education: Attended Svitlodarsk Secondary School No. 11 and graduated from Donetsk Vocational Machine-Building College No. 67.
- Interests: Passionate about sports, particularly kickboxing, tennis, and football.
- Life in Lviv: After the full-scale war began, his family moved to Lviv, where he worked at the Lviv Armored Plant.
- Military Service: Joined the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in June 2024. He carried out missions on the Kursk direction.
Kyrylo is survived by his brother and many friends.
