On 2 September Lviv will bid farewell to soldier Oleh Hot

On Wednesday, 2 September, a farewell ceremony will be held in Lviv for serviceman Oleh Hot, who gave his life defending Ukraine from the Russian occupiers. The city authorities are calling on Lviv residents and visitors to join the ceremony and to refrain at this time from entertainment events and celebrations.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. At approximately 11:30 a citywide farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square. The warrior will be laid to rest at Holosko Cemetery, in section 34-V.

Oleh Hot (13.03.1983 — 23.01.2025) was a native of Lviv. He studied at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 62 and later at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 99 in Lviv. He worked as a forklift driver at the limited liability company “ATB-Market”, and later at the Lviv branch of the limited liability company “Nestlé Ukraine”.

According to his family, Oleh was determined, hard-working, sociable and responsible; he was noted for his perseverance and energy, did not shy away from difficulties and moved confidently towards his goals. He led an active, sporty lifestyle, practising hand-to-hand combat and shooting. He was interested in medicine, took medical courses and constantly sought to broaden his knowledge. He loved fishing and spending time in nature.

In 2024, Oleh Hot took up arms to defend his Homeland from the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers. He served in the Donetsk sector with the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanised Brigade of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state.

The fallen defender is survived by his parents, his brother with his family, his godchildren and other relatives.
