Sad news comes to the Sokal community from the frontline one after another.
On 28 January 2024, during a mortar attack near the village of Novoyehorivka, Svatove district, Luhansk region, our Defender, Sergeant Tsiona Yurii Yevhenovych, born in 1973, a resident of the village of Varyazh, was killed.
The sad news was reported by the Sokal City Council.
He was called up for military service on 29 March 2022, served as a border guard inspector – assistant grenade launcher of the fourth border commandant’s office of rapid response of the military unit 9938.
The Hero is survived by his mother Maria, wife Liudmyla, daughters Tetiana, Halyna, Svitlana, sons-in-law Borys, Stepan, grandchildren Viktoriia, Artem, brothers Ostap, Pavlo, sister Hanna.
We sincerely condole with the family on the death of the Hero Yurii Tsiona.
