On 3 September, a faithful son of Ukraine, Roman Oliynyk, returned to his hometown on a shield to rest in eternal peace

With tears in their eyes, a sense of regret and despair, the residents of Sokal came out to the main road to meet the body of the fallen Hero with dignity. The brave warrior defended not only Ukraine, but also each of us, our freedom and independence. Human life is priceless, the soul is immortal, and the memory of Heroes is eternal!
According to Father Volodymyr Zharsky, the Parastas and funeral were celebrated by the clergy. Metropolitan Archpriest Yaroslav Kashchuk addressed the community and reiterated that Russia is destroying Ukraine and the young Ukrainian flower, which is our future, and unfortunately, the number of Ukrainians is decreasing.

Soldier Oliynyk Roman Petrovych, born on 15.02.1980, a resident of Sokal, died as a result of injuries and contusion received during his service.
He was mobilised for military service on 22.02.2023, served in several military units.
The Hero Roman Oliinyk is survived by his sister Halyna and her family. The deceased Hero Roman Oliynyk found his eternal rest on the Walk of Fame in Sokal.
