30-year-old man with knives and drugs caught in Lviv after fleeing through a pond

On Kulparkivska Street in Lviv, patrol officers stopped a man who was illegally crossing the road during a red traffic light signal. The incident occurred recently during a routine patrol.

The pedestrian was ordered to stop, but instead he began to flee toward the nearby railway tracks. During the chase, the man jumped into a pond in an attempt to escape and tried to discard several packages along the way.

One of the officers entered the water and managed to apprehend the suspect. The man was identified as a 30-year-old Lviv resident with a prior criminal record for drug-related offenses.

Upon inspection, he was found to be carrying two knives. In addition, police recovered four packets containing a white and pinkish powdery substance, suspected to be narcotics.

The man was issued a citation under Part 1 of Article 127 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for violating pedestrian traffic rules. He now faces potential criminal charges for drug-related crimes and illegal possession of weapons.

Lviv Regional Patrol Police commended their colleagues for their vigilance and professionalism during the arrest.
