31-year-old border guard from Sheptytska community dies after FPV drone strike injury in Donetsk region

The Sheptytska community has reported the tragic loss of 31-year-old resident Oleksandr Valentynovych Hundzyk, who passed away in October due to critical injuries sustained in combat.

Born in 1994, Oleksandr served as a third-category border guard inspector and was responsible for operating anti-tank missile systems within the border unit named after Hero of Ukraine Yevhenii Pikus.

He bravely defended Ukraine’s sovereignty in the Donetsk region, where on September 21 he sustained severe injuries from an FPV drone strike during a combat mission. Despite medical efforts, his life could not be saved.

The Sheptytska City Council expresses heartfelt condolences to Oleksandr’s family, friends, and comrades-in-arms. The community mourns the loss of its defender and honors his sacrifice.

We must never forget the high cost our soldiers pay for Ukraine’s freedom and peace.

Eternal glory and bright memory to Hero Oleksandr Hundzyk.
