37-year-old Svyatoslav Solomchak from Drohobychnya died in Siversk, Donetsk region

On October 9, the Drogobytsk community will meet another Hero who gave his life for Ukraine – 37-year-old Svyatoslav Solomchak.

The sad news was reported in the Drohobytsk City Council.

Svyatoslav was born on July 29, 1986. He lived in the village of Mokryany, Drohobytsky District. He studied at the Small Academy of Arts in Pidbuzh, then at the Lviv National Academy of Arts.

From the first days of the war, Svyatoslav tried to stand up for the defense of Ukraine, signed up for the ranks of the Armed Forces, but at first he was refused and put in a queue. Therefore, Svyatoslav devoted the first months of the full-scale invasion to volunteer work.

In the summer of 2022, Svyatoslav Solomchak did join the ranks of the ZSU. Already at the end of August 2022, he went to the training ground, later he was on training in England, after which he went to the advanced positions of the front. He defended Ukraine as a member of the 1st special brigade named after Ivan Bohun, HV A-4626.

For about a year he was in the Kharkiv direction of the front. In the last few months, he performed combat missions for the defense of Ukraine in Donetsk region.

Unfortunately, on October 6, 2023, in Siversk, Donetsk region, Svyatoslav died after coming under enemy fire.

The soldier’s relatives left him a daughter, mother and two sisters.

The Drohobytsk City Council, its executive committee, Mayor Taras Kuchma and Council Secretary Orest Karakevich express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and friends on the untimely death of the Hero – Svyatoslav Solomchak.

The arrival of the funeral convoy with the body of the deceased is expected tomorrow, October 9, at 14:00 at the Crossroads of Heroes.

Subsequently, at 2:30 p.m., a city-wide farewell will be held on Rynok Square. The funeral service will be held at 15:00 in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

The Hero will be buried on the Walk of Fame.
