
With deep sorrow, the Yavoriv community bids farewell to its hero — Ihor Ivanovych Helant, who died on June 18 while defending his homeland. He was 43 years old.
Ihor was born on October 8, 1980, in the village of Oselya in Yavoriv district, Lviv region. After graduating from the Instrumentation Faculty of Lviv Polytechnic National University, he worked at Bread Factory No. 1 and later at the Kormotech plant in the village of Prylbichi.
Thanks to his technical education, Ihor was highly skilled at repairing various machinery. He was a kind, empathetic person — a devoted son, brother, and caring father.
During the war, Ihor served in the 225th Assault Regiment. He held the rank of junior sergeant and served as the senior gunner in the assault squad of the second assault platoon of the 2nd company, unit A7400.
He is survived by his son Mykola, daughter Diana, parents Halya and Ivan, brother Ivan with his wife Orysya, niece Anna, nephew Ivanko, and niece’s husband Nazar.
The funeral will take place on Monday in his native village of Oselya, approximately at 12:00.
