
On Saturday, 11 April, Lviv will bid farewell to serviceman Andriy Hrushchyk, who gave his life defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers. The city council urges Lviv residents and visitors to join the city farewell ceremony and refrain from entertainment activities.
The funeral service will take place at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul. Following this, at approximately 11:30, a city-wide farewell ceremony will be held at Rynok Square. Andriy Hrushchyk will be buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the field of honourable burials No. 87.
Andriy Hrushchyk (25.02.1993 — 08.04.2026) was a native of Lviv. He studied at the Morshyn Lyceum named after Kostiantyn Maletskyi, pursued education at Lviv Technological College and the National University ‘Lviv Polytechnic’. He worked in the fields of logistics and electrical installation.
In 2024, he took up arms to defend the Motherland, protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity in the Donetsk direction. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, parents, sister, and family.
