Today, the Velykomostivska community remembers its Defender — Andriy Kolachnyk, who died a year ago. Andriy was born on 29 March 1982 in the village of Boyanets in the Lviv region, where he spent his childhood and youth. He studied at Boyanets School and later at Velykomostivska Secondary School.
After his studies, Andriy worked in Velyki Mosty at the ‘Bohatyr’ enterprise. In the memory of his family and friends, he will remain a kind person, a caring son, a reliable friend, a loving husband, and the father of three daughters.
In October 2024, Andriy stood up to defend Ukraine, underwent training in an artillery unit in the city of Rivne, and served as a rifleman in a mechanised battalion within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. While carrying out a combat mission, he heroically died on the front lines near the settlement of Shevchenkove in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region.
He will forever be 43 years old. In mourning are his mother, wife, three daughters, and sister. For his courage, dedication, and sacrifice, Andriy Kolachnyk was posthumously awarded the honorary title of ‘Hero of the Velykomostivska Territorial Community’. The bright memory of him will live on in the hearts of all who knew, loved, and respected him.
