Andrii Mykytin from Truskavets Killed in the War

In Truskavets, a farewell ceremony was held for Ukraine’s defender Andrii Mykytin, who lost his life fighting for our country. His life was cut short on 13 May in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where he, a senior soldier of the artillery division of the military unit A3215, was killed as a result of an attack by enemy KAB.

Andrii was born and raised in Truskavets, where he spent his childhood and youth. In May 2022, he was mobilised to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died near the village of Danylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region alongside other defenders.

At the Heroes’ Crossroads, the body of Andrii Mykytin, along with the bodies of fellow warriors Vasyl Tupychak and Roman Seniv, was met by relatives, comrades, and volunteers. The funeral took place in the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet, where everyone could pay respects to the fallen hero.

On the Avenue of Honourable Burials in Truskavets, a new grave has appeared where Andrii’s body found its eternal rest. Thanks to the heroic deed of Yurii Khoma, who dug the fallen comrades out from under the rubble, the family was able to bury their son. Andrii was a good friend and comrade, completed his mandatory service, and voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
