For the Turka community, today has been special. Our fellow countryman, Andrii Shulim, has returned from Russian captivity. This is an event for which everyone — from family and friends to community residents — had been waiting with hope and prayers.
By the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Turka, clergy, the warrior’s family, schoolchildren, city council representatives, and residents gathered to give a fitting welcome to the defender. People came with flowers, Ukrainian flags, and words of support, for the return of every Ukrainian warrior is a great joy.
Emotional were the moments when Andrii was met by his relatives — with tears of joy and embraces. Schoolchildren and the town mayor expressed gratitude to the warriors for their courage and the defence of their homeland. Father Taras wished Andrii God’s protection, strength of spirit, and peace.
Andrii Shulim thanked everyone who prayed and believed in his return for their support. It reminds us of the great cost at which Ukraine’s freedom is won. The Turka community prays and awaits the return of every Ukrainian warrior. Glory to Ukraine!
