The Drohobych community is in mourning over the death of the defender of Ukraine, Andriy Valiukh, a resident of the village of Ranevychi. His life was cut short during battles against the enemy on 4 April 2026. He was known as a dedicated warrior who never abandoned his comrades in a difficult moment.
Andriy Valiukh was born on 14 December 1985 in Ranevychi. He graduated from Drohobych School No. 8 and obtained an education in computer programming and management. He worked at a crane factory and also abroad, including in Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Italy. After returning to Ukraine, before the Russian invasion, he joined the Armed Forces.
His call sign was Joker. Despite being offered leave before an important battle, Andriy refused to leave his comrades. Sadly, this battle was to be his last. Andriy is survived by his mother, son, and younger brother.
We express our condolences on behalf of the Drohobych City Council and its leadership. The farewell to the hero will take place on 22 April when a funeral cortege with the warrior’s body arrives at the Heroes’ crossroads at 14:00. The memorial service and funeral will be held in the village of Ranevychi on Zarychna Street.
Eternal memory to the Hero!
