A motor rally was held through the streets of the city in memory of serviceman Yurii Saienko. In this way, the community paid tribute to their fellow townsman, who grew up here, studied, started a family and linked a significant part of his life with this city.
Yurii Saienko was a 33-year-old defender of Ukraine. During his service, he fulfilled his military duty to the very end. According to the community, on 24 July Yurii was killed near the village of Oleksiivka in Sumy region as a result of a strike by an enemy drone while taking part in the evacuation of wounded comrades-in-arms.
During the motor rally, city residents together with the family and friends of the fallen soldier honoured his memory with a minute of silence and a joint march. People emphasise that they must preserve the memory of the defender who became a shield for his land and gave his life for Ukraine.
The community stresses that this loss is a shared pain for the city and the entire country, as the price of today’s peace is measured in the lives of such soldiers as Yurii Saienko.
