Two commands: “Fire!” and “Shot!” and in a few seconds, a cloud of dust and the sound of “arrival” indicate that the target has been hit. This is only the final phase of the complex calculation of the SPG-9 anti-tank grenade launcher.
Before firing a shot, fighters must clearly determine the coordinates of the target, aim the grenade launcher according to the given coordinates, and finally fire. All these procedures must be carried out as quickly as possible, because the enemy will certainly open fire in return.
The work of the calculation of grenade launchers, as a coordinated mechanism, where everyone performs his task quickly, clearly and in cooperation with his fellows. Such coherence is achieved only in constant training. Fighters of one of the battalions of the 103rd brigade of ground defense during training improved their ability to hit targets with a grenade launcher based on previously set coordinates.
“During the fight, the fighter will not have time to recall memorized instructions or watched videos. What is learned during training and practice shooting can save lives and help to complete a combat mission. Therefore, even here, on the front line, between the performance of combat missions, servicemen should use every minute to improve their skills and abilities,” emphasized the commander of the 103rd brigade, Colonel Valery Kurko.
