As of today, the Polish side has not introduced any additional checks at the border with Ukraine. The processing of citizens and vehicles at border crossing points on both the Ukrainian and Polish sides continues as usual and in accordance with established procedures.
Over the past 24 hours, 166 buses were processed for departure from Ukraine through border crossing points in Lviv region. Of these, 54 buses crossed the border directly through the Krakivets checkpoint.
These figures indicate intensive bus traffic at this crossing point as well as its high processing capacity. At the same time, no changes in border clearance procedures or additional factors that could currently affect border crossing times have been recorded.
Passenger Traffic at Ukraine’s Western Border on September 16
In total, on September 16, Ukraine’s western borders with European Union countries, as well as the border with Moldova in the Chernivtsi region section, were crossed by:
- 84,000 people;
- 19,000 vehicles;
- 39,000 people entered Ukraine;
- 36,000 of those entering the country were Ukrainian citizens;
- 44,000 people were processed for departure from Ukraine;
- 26,000 travelers crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border.
The Ukrainian-Polish border remains the most popular route among travelers crossing Ukraine’s western frontier.
Border guards continue to monitor the situation at checkpoints and cooperate with their Polish counterparts to ensure the steady processing of citizens and vehicles.
Travelers are also reminded that passenger traffic at Ukraine’s western border traditionally increases ahead of weekends and during the weekends themselves. Citizens are therefore advised to take this trend into account when planning their travel time and routes.
