It is now the fourth anniversary of the death of Ukrainian defender Vasyl Pelysh (10.02.1995 – 18.09.2022), a native of our region. He was among those who, back in the days of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, stepped forward to defend the country and, with the onset of the full-scale invasion, returned once more to the fight.
During his service, Vasyl not only carried out combat missions, but also continued to support the army, stood by his comrades-in-arms and remained steadfastly devoted to Ukraine and its defence.
On 17 September 2022, while delivering aid to a position near Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, the soldier was gravely wounded. Medics fought for his life, but on 18 September he died in hospital in Dnipro. He was just 27 years old.
Today, local people remember Vasyl Pelysh, honouring his heroism and the sacrifice he made for the sake of Ukraine.
