1 October marks four years since the death of Ukrainian defender Yurii Hrynyk, who gave his life while carrying out a combat mission in the Mykolaiv region.
Yurii Hrynyk took up arms to defend Ukraine back in 2014, when he went to the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone. After a break in service, in 2021 he signed a contract again and returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Despite being wounded, the serviceman did not leave the army and returned to duty, continuing to defend the country’s freedom and independence. He was killed while carrying out one of the combat missions in the Mykolaiv region.
On the anniversary of his death, the community remembers the sacrifice of Yurii Hrynyk and emphasises that the most important thing we can do today is to preserve the memory of the fallen defenders and support the soldiers who continue to stand in Ukraine’s defence.
