Delegations of Twin Cities Honored the Memory of Heroes

On the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the birth of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, delegations from twin cities and volunteers who have been helping our defenders since the first days of the full-scale war visited our city.

The meeting began with an especially emotional moment. Representatives from partner cities — Romen, Pokrovsk, Marijampole (Lithuania), and Piskowice (Poland), as well as volunteers from Italy, Germany, Norway, Latvia, and the USA, walked through the Avenue of Heroes and honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a moment of silence. Unfortunately, the cause that united us in this friendship and partnership was the full-scale war. We thank our friends for their reliable shoulder and supporting hand that the community has felt for over three years.

Tomorrow, on August 9, the delegations will visit the Museum of the History of Religion and the training ground of the mining-economic college, inspect educational institutions, and honor Heroes at the Bendiu Cemetery. The visit will conclude with the ceremonial presentation of the titles “Honorary Citizen of the Chervonohrad Territorial Community” to volunteers, as well as acknowledgments for cooperation to the twin cities.
