17th May in Ukraine marks the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repressions. The exact number of executed, imprisoned, deported, and those who perished as a result of totalitarian regime actions remains unknown. These crimes were concealed, disguised as accidents and heart attacks, and fear for their children prevented this information from being preserved for future generations.
The vast propaganda machine did its work then, and sadly, continues to operate today. Memory and experience are what we must learn from the lessons of history. It is important to act on conclusions and deeds to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past. For the sake of our land and freedom, we fight and will triumph! Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine!
