On this day, 12 years ago, several hundred Ukrainians, who had stood on the Maidan just the day before, decided to form the first volunteer battalion to defend their nation. This was a decisive step in the establishment of Ukrainian independence. This was reported by Maksym Kozytskyy.
Thanks to the volunteers, Ukraine not only stood firm at that time but also managed to defend its independence at the start of the full-scale invasion. They left behind their usual lives and jobs, with some even returning from abroad, to be alongside their country.
