Nine war veterans from the Yavoriv community have been given the opportunity to purchase adaptive household appliances and special devices that will ease everyday tasks and increase their independence. The support is provided under a state programme for veterans who have fully or partially lost their sight as a result of defending Ukraine.
The programme is implemented in accordance with a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. It provides for a one-off cash payment of up to 95 thousand hryvnias for the purchase of adaptive household appliances and special equipment. The overall list covers 26 categories of goods.
Among the available items are smartphones with voice assistants, computers with text-to-speech software, household appliances with voice control, devices for reading and recognising text, navigation tools and other specialised devices for performing everyday activities. For people with visual impairments, such equipment is not just a convenience, but a tool for greater independence and confidence in daily life.
The War Veterans Support Centre of the Yavoriv City Council played an important role in engaging veterans to take part in the programme. Its specialists provided consultations, shared information about the conditions of participation, and helped to prepare applications and the necessary documents.
More detailed information about this and other current opportunities for veterans of the Yavoriv community is available at the Veterans Support Centre of the Yavoriv City Council at: Yavoriv, 10 Lvivska Street (in the CNAP premises).
