
The Radekhiv community has received the sad confirmation of the death of its defender. DNA analysis has established that Mykola Martynenko, a resident of the village of Novyi Vytkiv, was killed in action in Donetsk region on 1 May 2025.
Private Mykola Vasylovych Martynenko, born in 1989 (28.09.1989), served as a rifleman and assistant grenade launcher operator in the 3rd mechanised squad of the 3rd mechanised platoon of the 4th mechanised company of the 2nd mechanised battalion. He faithfully fulfilled his military oath and combat mission, defending Ukraine, its freedom and independence.
Until 27 July 2026 the serviceman was considered missing in action. Only after DNA testing was his death officially confirmed.
The Radekhiv City Council reported that the community extends its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen soldier and shares their grief at this loss.
The time and place for meeting the cortege with the body of the fallen defender, as well as the funeral arrangements, will be announced separately.
