The Sokal area is in mourning once again. The death of Yevhenii Leonidovych Homziakov (born 04 July 1982), a resident of Zhvyrka, has been confirmed.
He was born in Kazakhstan. When he turned two, he moved to Ukraine together with his mother. He graduated from the Zhvyrka school.
In 2017–2020, he studied at the Sokal Vocational Lyceum, specializing as a gas welder. Later, he worked for Galnaftokhim. He was not married and was his mother’s only son.
For the last five years, he lived in Dnipro, from where he was mobilized on 21 July 2024 to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Faithful to his oath and to the Ukrainian people, he was killed in the line of duty. Until now, Yevhenii Homziakov had been considered missing in action, and only this week a DNA examination confirmed his death.
