Fallen soldier Volodymyr Sviderskyi returns to the Lopatyn community on his shield

On 7 August 2026, the fallen Defender of Ukraine, soldier Volodymyr Sviderskyi, a resident of the village of Shchurovychi in the Lopatyn territorial community, will return “on his shield” to his native home. This was reported by the Lopatyn territorial community.

Volodymyr Sviderskyi, born in 2003 (12 September 2003), served in the Armed Forces as a scout in the reconnaissance section of a reconnaissance platoon of a reconnaissance company. Since March 2026 he had been considered missing in action.

It was later confirmed that the serviceman was killed on 18 March 2026 while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Holubivka, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region.

The mourning cortege bearing the soldier’s body will be received on 7 August 2026 at 10:30 in the town of Radekhiv. From there, the procession will proceed to his native village of Shchurovychi.

The Lopatyn community is calling on residents to join in honouring the memory of the fallen warrior by forming a living corridor of respect along the route of the cortege. People are asked to bring national flags and flowers to pay their last respects to the defender who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.

The community extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends and all who knew Volodymyr Sviderskyi.
