
Vasyl Chmola, a Ukrainian serviceman from the village of Novosilky, was killed on 11 April 2024 while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Novomykhailivka in the Maryinka district of Donetsk region. Now the body of the fallen defender is returning to his native village on his shield.
The farewell to the warrior will take place on 14 August. At 14:00 a funeral cortege with the body of Vasyl Chmola will depart from the mortuary of the KNP «Busk CRH», travel along Lvivska Street to the 900th Anniversary of Busk Square and back. The procession will then continue along the Kyiv–Chop motorway through the villages of Kizliv, Novyi Myljaty, Staryi Myljaty to the village of Velykosilky (checkpoint), and then along the road to the village of Novosilky via Neslukhiv and Lisok.
At approximately 15:00 the cortege will arrive in Novosilky, where the funeral rite will begin in the courtyard of the fallen soldier’s family home. Residents of the community are called upon to receive the funeral procession in mourning and to accompany the defender with dignity on his final journey, honouring his sacrifice for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
According to the order of Busk Mayor Rostyslav Slipets, 14 August has been declared a Day of Mourning in the Busk urban territorial community for the fallen warrior Vasyl Chmola.
