To the village of Vorotsiv in the Ivano-Frankivsk community returns on a shield the fallen defender of Ukraine Andriy Bohdanovych Soluk, a resident of this village. He was killed on 5 July 2024 near the village of Yevhenivka in Pokrovskyi district while carrying out a combat mission to defend Ukraine.
Andriy Soluk served in the 11th Separate Rifle Battalion of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The serviceman remained faithful to his oath and fought to the last for the freedom and independence of the state.
His life journey was bound up with work and service to others. After studying at the Forestry Technical University, he completed his compulsory military service at the Desna training centre. Later he studied at the Fire Academy, qualified as an electric welder and worked on the railway.
After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Andriy did not wait for a call-up notice but went to the military enlistment office of his own accord to join the defence of Ukraine. In the community he is remembered as a sincere, hardworking, courageous and responsible man who was devoted to his Homeland.
In mourning for the fallen warrior are his parents Bohdan and Dariya, his brother Yaroslav with his family, his sister-in-law Halyna, his nephew Sviatoslav and his goddaughter Yana. The Ivano-Frankivsk community has extended its heartfelt condolences to his relatives and friends and shares their grief.
The meeting of the funeral cortege is planned for Thursday at 11:00 by the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the entrance to the village of Karachyniv. From there the procession will proceed to the defender’s family home at: village of Vorotsiv, 20 Ivana Franka Street. After the farewell, the funeral procession will move to the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UGCC, where the funeral service will take place. The warrior will be laid to rest in the local cemetery.
Residents of the Ivano-Frankivsk community are called upon to meet the fallen serviceman with dignity, forming a living corridor of honour and paying their last respects to the warrior who gave his life for Ukraine. Eternal memory to Andriy Soluk.
