Today, the Drohobytsk community is in mourning. Mourning convoys with the bodies of two fallen Heroes – Andrii Bilyovsky from Drohobych and Konstantin Gruzin from Stebny – arrived in their native land. Both defenders died at the end of last year. Today, the fallen Heroes were taken on their last journey with honors and city-wide prayers.
The meeting took place traditionally at the Crossroads of Heroes, where two funeral convoys arrived at the same time. Accompanied by clergy, a joint memorial service was held here for the fallen.
From the Crossroads of Heroes, the convoys split up – the hearse with the body of the fallen Andrii Bilyovskyi was taken to Rynok Square in Drohobych, and the hearse with the body of Konstantin Gruzin was taken to Maidan Shevchenko in Stebnyk. Mass city-wide farewells were held on both squares, with the participation of relatives, relatives, comrades-in-arms and the leadership of the Drohobych community.
Accompanied by clergymen, everyone knelt down and prayed and honored the feat of the Heroes who gave their lives for their native country.
After the city-wide farewell, the hearse with the body of Andrii Bilyovskyi was taken to his parents’ home in the village of Ranevichi, to his native yard for farewell, after which a funeral rite will be held in the church of the village of Ranevichi. The Hero is buried at the cemetery in the village of Ranevichi.
After the city-wide farewell on Shevchenko Square in Stebnik, the funeral procession with the body of the fallen Hero Konstantin Gruzin was taken to the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, where the funeral rite will be held. They are burying the Hero at the cemetery on Mekelita Street.
Andriy Bilyovskyi was a sniper shooter of the 1st detachment of the 2nd assault platoon of the 9th assault company of the 3rd assault battalion of the A-0224 air force. Performed combat missions and passed many hot spots of the front.
In September, he was injured, after which he was treated and on vacation for about a month. But already on October 25, Andriy returned to the front line again.
In November, the unit was transferred to Donetsk region, into real hell. The soldier died on December 27 this year while performing a combat mission to protect Ukraine on the Donetsk side of the front.
The deceased is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
Konstantin Gruzin lived in Stebnik. During the full-scale war, he defended Ukraine. He was a gunner of the 2nd motorized infantry unit of the motorized infantry battalion of the A-0998 military unit.
Unfortunately, on December 28, 2023, during a combat mission to protect Ukraine, a resident of Stebny was killed.
The deceased is survived by his wife, three daughters, parents, and sisters.
